Architectures of the Unreal

Melita Radocaj is a Munich-based artist whose work explores the shifting boundaries between photography, memory, and machine vision. After more than two decades working as an art director and art advisor in the advertising industry, she transitioned into an independent artistic practice.

Today, she approaches artificial intelligence not as a replacement but as a collaborator — a lens through which perception is bent, fractured, and reassembled. Her work seeks to uncover the beauty and tension in images that hover between the real and the imagined, reflecting on how technology mediates human experience.
